AMD's Radeon RX 7800 XT has been in the news lately. The budget RDNA 3 GPU is expected to hit the market in the coming months with a price tag of $500
I would be surprised if the new card undercuts the value of this card at this price. That's not what happened with the 7900 XT launch (the 6950 XT is still better value despite price drops), but only time will tell. If you want AV1 encoding, it does make sense to wait.

Ah, great point about AV1. Forgot about that! Thank you

You must use a payment plan [Affirm], which ends up incurring interest? So not a good deal?

I thought Affirm gave you a time frame to pay in full before they charge for interest, unless you sign up for a different monthly plan right off that bat. Or I could be wrong and it doesn't apply to all sales.

I am curious about this as well. It is hard to tell from the fine print and I don't want to go through the checkout process. There is an info popup that says rates range from 10%-30%, based on a soft credit check I assume and the example payments shown are based on 15% interest.

I used affirm once years ago and thought it had zero interest, but maybe I am misremembering.

Their website shows there are no penalties or fees for paying off early, so maybe you just pay the accrued interest.

can put it through Affirm and pay it off asap. No penalies or fees for early payoff. Not a fan of applying for a short term loan though.
