Its one of those things. If you know, you know. Easy money.
That's B.S. Wifey and I apply for at least 6-8 cc's/year and our credit rating is around 830/ea. Applying for a cc makes a tiny hit to your cc rating which goes away pretty quickly.

If your credit rating is so bad that your worried about this, then you have bigger financial problems to solve.
The amount of new accounts opened per year is only a small percentage of the overall credit formula. The majority of your score is based on you debt to income ratio. I open around 4 cards per year and sit around 790-810 credit score. That is still in the range to get the best available interest rates.

The Annaul Fee is billed for the Prime membership itself, not the credit card. The credit card itself has no AF. If you cancel Prime before the renewal, that's the end of it. The card will switch to earning 3% back on Amazon spending instead of 5% and you may get a new card.

What happens if you cancel prime and drop to 3% and then you resubscribe to prime? Does the card then go back to 5%?

Even having an amazon store card, I was approved and received the 200 immediately. So easy and took maybe 15 seconds.

If all you care about is 5x back at Amazon, can meet the minimum spend requirement, and don't mind a little additional work, Chase Ink Cash gives a better return. Sign up bonus is $750 ultimate rewards points (can be worth much more if you have the ability to transfer to travel partners). Buy Amazon gift cards at staples and get 5x back. No annual fee.

I couldn't get it to come up either - I could only get $50. But when I clicked in from Chase it worked: https://creditcards.chase.com/cas...me-rewards
This didn't work for me. It always reverts to the $50 offer. I am not the primary prime member. Wonder if that is the reason?

I had this chase Amazon visa credit card before , and closed it.

Anyone knew what is the period I can churn this offer (counted from closing date or last time I got bonus), or that is one time per lifetime like AMEX card

thanks

If you recommend this, you get $50 yourself and the other person $200. Need to find the link in your account for reference.

850 credit score here,
opening new cards barely hurts your score as long as your debt to credit ratio remains in good standing, at least if you're older. i opened 14 in a year and my score increased by 20 points...

I first checked if Pre-qualified ...result was positive ....applied and instantly got approved and got $200 GC added to balance.

so got $200 Smilie

Now question is: 5% on purchase only when active Prime member or always regardless ?

Do you actually cancel them after to only reap the sign on bonus etc or just hold on if no annual fee?
