That's B.S. Wifey and I apply for at least 6-8 cc's/year and our credit rating is around 830/ea. Applying for a cc makes a tiny hit to your cc rating which goes away pretty quickly.

If your credit rating is so bad that your worried about this, then you have bigger financial problems to solve.

The amount of new accounts opened per year is only a small percentage of the overall credit formula. The majority of your score is based on you debt to income ratio. I open around 4 cards per year and sit around 790-810 credit score. That is still in the range to get the best available interest rates.

A comment and a question. First the comment. Opening several new cards can also affect your credit age which would affect newer creditors more so than older ones. So it hits you in two credit categories. Now the question. Can you get this deal if you already have a prime store card? Just the base card?

Ok, I answered my own question which is you can get the $200 if you already have the Prime store card.

Not sure of anyone commented on this but the card is metal, it looks super snazzy IMO. When my husband applied, it allowed him to choose a graphic but for me it didn't, not sure why, but I don't mind the blue color and prime lettering.

Well that was the quickest $200 I have made. Picked up a new 75gal per day RO unit. Now the question is to toss the card in the safe and forget about it or cancel after I finish using the Amz credit???? BTW I use the kids AMZ if I need to order something but was offered a free month on my acct that I need to cancel here soon.

The Store Card is not a Visa card. I have the store card and was able to get the sign up bonus.
