Its one of those things. If you know, you know. Easy money.
That's B.S. Wifey and I apply for at least 6-8 cc's/year and our credit rating is around 830/ea. Applying for a cc makes a tiny hit to your cc rating which goes away pretty quickly.
If your credit rating is so bad that your worried about this, then you have bigger financial problems to solve.
The amount of new accounts opened per year is only a small percentage of the overall credit formula. The majority of your score is based on you debt to income ratio. I open around 4 cards per year and sit around 790-810 credit score. That is still in the range to get the best available interest rates.

I haven't had a chase card for years and currently have an 828/850 CS...
Same thing for me too, then the lady from Chase called me right back on that day and required me to upload documents to verify my address and birthday. Then I uploaded my driver license id immediately. Then an hour later, I got an email for approval.
Guys, credit applications only have a big impact on your credit if you have little to no credit history. The more open credit lines or credit history you have, the less the impact. If you only have 1 credit line and you maintain it for 10 years in good standing, then you'll have an excellent credit score (unless you have derogatory marks). However once you apply for a new credit line, it will have a major impact since there is not a lot of open lines.
I applied too and got approval and 12k limit. I had applied for Wells Fargo a couple of months back and got denied. But I didn't proceed without pre approval that you can check at Amazon website. Only proceed if pre approved else as I learned hard way from Wells Fargo sometimes you get rejected even with good score. The reason they gave me (Wells Fargo) was too new and no relationship with the bank. Up until last month Amazon used to not pre approve me, only once pre approved I proceeded. I have 6 checks on my account since last year, since damn Merc did 2 checks one for MBFS and one for Sonic. But they have minimal impact on my score and only remain on your credit history for 2 years. My score is around 760 and I am only 1 year into America.

It earns only 3% once transferred to new account
Anyone?
Every time you re-activate Prime on the cardholder's account the card automatically switches to 5% again. No extra steps needed.
Not true. I removed it from my account and added to another Prime account, and it no longer earns 5%
