It has an integrated reel. For $20 you can do better but considering that the design is over 50 years old, it does what it needs to do. Good luck!
They don't cast well do to the design, but I have a few. In fact, my brother is here from Germany and brought one to the lake last night that he found at my mother's house. I put a stronger line on mine a while back.
