Like others have stated these can be had refurb on Amazon at 2 for $20 looks like the renewed price is $33.99 now though..
Also of note, These are zwave sensors and will work with a smartthings hub (and home assistant) you just need to define them as a generic zwave door/window sensor after pairing in the smartthings web config.
I don't think that's a true statement. I have the ring alarm system, I'm not subscribed (Self Monitor) and I can arm and disarm from the app.
Existing customers can but they are changing it. New customers will no longer be able to do that. Not sure how long we will be grandfathered in though,
An Update to Ring In-App Features
Starting March 29, 2023, a Ring Protect subscription is required to access Ring Alarm in-app features in the US and Canada, including digital notifications and the ability to Arm and Disarm from your app. If you owned an Alarm before this date, your current device will keep these in-app features. If you did not own an Alarm, these features will now require a subscription.

Same here
Are you talking back to future and need time machines for that price?
No. He's actually right! I just checked price history, and about every 2 weeks they drop the refurbished 2 pack to $20
