Some dealers in my area, NE GA, are actually discounting the Ioniq5s $2500-$7500 right now. Not sure if that is a regional discount but the discounts seem to be coming from both the dealer and/or Hyundai. I know my local Hyundai dealer has had 3-5 Ioniq5s sitting in the front of their dealership for 1 - 2 months now that they can't seem to sell.

On a related note, the NHTSA just opened an investigation into the Ioniq5 due to reports that some Ioniqs are losing power while being driven. Not a full recall as of yet but enough complaints, around 30, to warrant a closer look. https://www.caranddriver.com/news...stigation/

Why buyout when you could invest those funds at a rate > 0.9%? Current 13-month CD's pay 4.3%.

Financing? Isn't the real deal when you do a lease, get the $7500 credit then do a lease buyout?

Found a dealer willing to do $40K (plus $595 Document fee + Tag, Title, Reg $95 and taxes) for a SEL. Pretty tempting with .99% APR, but I think car prices will continue to fall sharply in the next few months, so going to HODL for now.

Good luck finding one for MSRP, and if you do, it won't be a low MSRP.

I would be surprised if any dealers would mark this up now....you can buy a better equipped, significantly longer range model 3 for less or a model Y for about the same and then you don't have to win the Super Bowl and drive off in a Hyundai.....all kidding aside as polarizing as musk is...Tesla has decimated the competition with price cuts and a better charging network and overall product

You don't own it, it's leased !
When many buy a car on credit (not this exact deal due to APR discount) and get a 60-72 month loan, after 3 yrs they own nothing. Thats an FYI for those who dont understand what a lease really is. When done with sharp deals the net cost after 3 yrs can be LOWER on the lease cased on the total cost and value of the car at 3 yrs. Anyone who uses the word rent or the word own like usually doesnt know the real underlying numbers. If he says own therew is nothign wrong with that because the "typical owner" owns nothng after three yrs anyway. They are underwater. And those who trade in cars after a few years often roll negative equity into a new loan to start the same process again.

Ugliest car ever no deal

Actually the ugliest car ever designed (if it ever exists on the road) is the Tesla Cybertruck. I say if. Elon is a few yrs late on that one. He did presell it at 35K. That wont happen. He said cars are rolling out this yr. Does it count if he makes one car?

I dont have this car but was curious about it. They do use a charging Network and shortly will be able to use the Tesla superchargers (most likely) Car and Driver rated this a 10/10. Actually higher than Tesla. Since they have a fast charger network it may be faster to charge this one on those units with 2 yrs free charging-Electrify America. I personally dont think the .99 interest rate makes this a slickdeal. Its ok. A savings for some. But it will create a high monthly payment and some people dont want that. Also if you are not very top tier credit this wont be approved. If the car is discounted well off MSRP it may be. I think they are really stuck now. During the pandemic the dealers were getting above sticker. Not they have inventory but Elon slashed priced on the 3 and it gets the 7500 tax credit.

There are lots of ioniq's at local dealers not sure if they arent buying for the nee recall or if they over ordered months ago for the backlog
Most here have 5-15 on lots

I shopped them last yr and ended up going with a 2023 hybrid n waiting for the new prologue . There are a bunch of dealers that will do msrp if you search around online!
What Recall? The Ioniq 5 hasn't had a recall since mid 2022.

Leases are simply car payments that never end. Ever. And once you're a non owner it's difficult to stop leasing cause it's so $$$.

That said, with EVs I wonder if leasing isn't better, at least for now. Replacing batteries in say 5 yrs again gonna be cheap. But after a 3 yr lease the technology will be noticeably improved.
Uh. if you're a business owner it moves from CAPEX to OPEX and becomes deductible yearly.

Ioniq needs to lower their price if they want to compete with model 3.
Uh no! This is the Model Y competitor and it is very close for specs. Also, this has a much bigger cabin and fit and finish is said to be much better on this.
