This post is misleading since the Indio Cali Classic HSS is normally $119.99--NOT $230 as indicated in posting. The Cali Classic DLX PLUS is the more expensive, better model.

The $71.39 is not misleading. The higher model is only better if you don't mind it's heft and want to try it's hardware and extra setup. But you could do that yourself. And that doesn't mean the classic model will need much.

Difference is a padded case cover and good return policy compared to about $5 less at the outlets such as eBay Temu and Wish. Seller, shipping and totals, with all the discounts and purchase methods should be tallied first. Yet get you various colors and parts choices.

Any new guitar at any price may need some setup. So it's best to read up on it. It's really easy. If not then pay, pay, pay. And pay... if you want.

Ordered one! The last two I purchased came in great shape. I have been playing them daily with no setup out of the box. Both are holding tune great. Hardware is better than several guitars I have that cost much more money.

Not sure what I will do the yet another guitar. But they are too cheap to pass up.

Too inexpensive to pass up is the correct summary. They only reason I am not getting another now, is my $58 guitar has a flatter fret board; but they 9.5 here is probably flat enough and arguably a great balance. These kinda things barely matter to the pros so so don't let it keep you away. Just FYI. 9.5 radius is the popular balance.

And I just have not decided which guitar type I might want for a backup. I recommend Strat types. A classic Tele might be an obvious choice; but Strats can sound that way too.

Plus; I'm torn about (over) customizing one; because if you look hard enough then you can find your color and most of the parts you want, anyway. Many people buy these to mod and then decide, why should they alter them.

If you can get the parts you want then go for it. If you can get all the parts you want except for around +$10 then go for it. If you are planning a fortune on parts then you might pay more to get them already done ($125 to $300 range). But none of that is necessary for a great, playable guitar. Just your personal tweaks.

Most investment guitars are not. These are expenses, not investments. Unless you mean fun. The rare guitar "investments" are risky and the winning profits are offset buy more losses. You would likely do better working at McDonalds. Admit the gear lust and use self control.

The main thing is, MOST inexpensive guitars parts work way better than any higher paying buyers would like to believe. A difference is not always bad. And low price does not always mean you get what you pay for. And the low price is not all because of parts (by far) or bad ones.

I would be interested if I had not already bought 3 of the black classic retro string through telecasters for $37.12 each shipped after GRAB65 coupon and 2+ quantity purchase discount in the last 2 weeks.

Where?

For me I normally hate missing a Strat's Trem, and doubt string through matters as much as some think; but that is EXCELLENT and a Tele would be nice. This shows a low enough price changes total value. Meaning recommendations change; when low enough.

What's ironic is those bump back into "investments"; but only by good percentage, not total repeatable cumulative cash profits, potentially. Unless you are a factory. It would take large volume and that is one good reason for low prices. Mass production; when not forgetting quality. Mass production does not have to mean a bunch of errors. It can also eliminate errors to practically none. That's what we see today with most makers. Old bad guitars and exception still exist. It's just most can not wrap their head a round a low cost guitar line could be doing better with quality than a high priced one.

If you are keeping your ear to the ground then you know high cost guitars are coming with issues. And you will keep hearing this; because it sucks to pay high dollar and get a project; when the $60 guitars are arriving setup, and just fine.

And you can be sure; if a high end line does anything for less then they will usually make you pay for it with what you actually get. And this is all we would have; with even less competition. Where conversely you CAN find high end features and better combinations of them; in the least costing guitars. Which is grand.

If you have decided you want a humbucker in the bridge then this is the slick deal; like the SSS deals are occasionally. But it's does not matter as much as you might think with certain pedals, amps, bright switches, EQ, and modeling IR's.

SSS can be set for two pickups(ceramics being slightly more boost) and toned warmer on the guitar. Humbuckers can be split for brighter; if so wired.

Note: Humbuckers pickups are not always warm (or side by side) and single looking pickups are not always bright. Hum bucking and tone are two different things.

Hot rails work in single coil spaces; but the word on the street is almost as well as select side by side humbuckers.

Pickups can be inexpensive (or very expensive) and easily modded. But it's less time and currency to just buy the inexpensive guitar the way you want it; at these prices.

Wow. How did I miss that? The indio tele is still my go to guitar. I don't need three but I like buying in bulk.

Eta: looks like all the guitar deals are gone from that sale. Good for my wallet and marriage but I'm still bummed.
