I tried a few different memory foam/hybrid mattress from Costco. They all claimed to have cooling properties. Every one of them did exactly what you said... continually warmed up over time. It was similar to sleeping on a heating pad. As someone who struggles to sleep when it's hot, I wound up returning all of the mattresses. I now avoid foam/hybrid mattresses altogether for this reason. Hope that helps?
You can initially place it on the floor, and buy a cheap metal bed frame to put it on. No box spring needed.

If you're a hot sleeper, like I am, you'll likely hate memory foam. I usually wake up feeling like I'm burning up and once I move I actually feel the trapped heat under me dissipating. I've tried "cooling" mattress toppers that don't really help much.
I switched to a hybrid mattress and haven't had the same problems.

We been buying these whenever they go on sale over the past few years (and getting rid of our old metal spring mattresses), almost every room in the house now has a Sealy cool mattress. It comes in a cool vacuum sealed package. We all love them. These are the best prices I have seen in a long time.

Someone in the comments said Allswell is made by Brooklyn Bedding, which is apparently a respected brand also
Never heard of them either.
I've heard the name.
Any thoughts on foam vs hybrid?

I highly doubt at this price point you are getting a true 'sealy' mattress
