Probably fine as a decorative piece, but let's be honest here: at this price point, you're getting disposable junk.

It sure looks nice, but as worn as my Karlstad sectional is in some spots, this would probably be a serious downgrade. I'll probably keep my Karlstad forever and just have it reupholstered.

I'm debating leather vs. linen. Would leather be uncomfortable to sleep on overnight?
Keep in mind that this is FAUX leather, which is basically plastic ("faux" means fake in French). That means it'll split and crack in a few years even if unused. That's just a result of aging. And while it's somewhat waterproof, so easier to clean, it's not puncture proof. Linen, like all woven fabrics, can recover from small punctures, e.g. from a ballpoint pen. Rips are also somewhat easier to repair on fabrics. If you don't care about appearances, you can just iron on a patch using heat-activated glue. You obviously can't iron plastic. I prefer heat glue because bonding is instant once cooled. You can also use fabric glue, which would work on plastic as well. But it's much harder to find a suitable plastic patch. And yes, you need to use fabric glue because of its flexibility. Other household glues dry hard or semi-hard, and crack if flexed, e.g. if sat on.

But to answer your question, fabrics are much more comfortable to sleep on than sticky plastic. That said, fabrics do absorb sweat do you might want to place a sheet over it. Sweat won't be a problem if you wear pajamas and the night is cool. But if you use sheets, then plastic is just as comfortable. So it comes down to durability and for my lifestyle, linen wins. If you tend to spill stuff, then plastic might be better.

Thanks and reppped. I ordered one in Teal to decorate a living room I seldom ever use. The futon will be great when I have the rare guest sleeping over and it looks super chic. Cheap price.

Yes and no. Since you don't really care too much about the comfort of your guests, this would be fine to sleep on. But durability is probably an issue, especially the faux leather one.

Just got a linen one for the basement. If it's really uncomfortable, we'll just use a cheap mattress topper.

Lots of reviews that it looks good but is uncomfortable, no support, tips over easy lying on the fold down part. "linen" is actually polyester etc. not unexpected for the price. nice find, but pass
People would be served to read the instructions and realize that you have to pull the legs out of the rear portion to lay flat. This is a problem with reviews, people don't know what the hell they're doing. It even shows the legs on the product photos.

I have a similar Novogratz sofa, with microfiber instead of faux leather. Has worked perfectly fine for us for the last six months so far we also bought it on the cheap and it's worth the price.

Some people are really mad that a cheapo couch is being sold. People that buy this know what they're getting.

Faux leather technologies have vastly improved. The faux leather in our new toyota sure feels and looks real.https://blog.mccarthytoyotaofseda...20material.

the material technology improves over time. but most likely they didn't use premium faux leather in this couch.
