As an added bonus for spam I pick an area code from an entirely different state (that I never receive calls from....pick one of the states with lowest population) and blacklist all incoming calls from that area code since they are direct dials instead of through google voice...same with texts. (yet another call blocker and blacklist blocker both from f-droid.org and free work really well with this...in most cases YACB blocks the call before the phone even rings.)
I typically get 2 at a time so I'm not so far ahead if I end up with service issues. Also towards the end of the year they always do a buy 3 get 3 promo that works for ANY sim kit activated in that time frame including ones you purchased EARLIER in the year at a better price!
Also you do not have to involve a person in activating the service...just pop the sim in, try to make a call and it will walk you through activating. If it hangs up while giving you your phone number (which it apparently does for EVERYONE and they have never bothered fixing it) you will get a text from "6700" that shows your phone number. You can text "DATA" to 6700 and it will tell you when your plan expires which is useful to see if they added the extra 3 months during the buy 3 get 3 promo.

I've been using GV as my main number for a while now - it was a game changer for me when not many providers gave you visual voicemail and being able to take calls/text from web browser.
I can't discuss excalation as in the 5 years (some of that on other t-mobile mvno's) I've been doing this I've yet to have it NOT work.

My fav is being able to blacklist phone numbers from even being able to ring my phone...spam, stalker ex girlfriends etc.
I just have the voicemails transcribed and sent to email....can't remember the last time I actually listened to one unless it was to figure out what a transcription was trying to actually say.
Card had to be activated by 01/06/2023 to get the extra 3 months.

For iOS you don't have to use the app. There's a couple of different ways not to, but I know most people haven't had GoogleVoice for over a decade lol. So option one might not even be available if they've never used it. But it's the easiest. If the person has ever texted you and the text went through to your phone's native SMS Messages, GoogleVoice assigns that person a different phone number...you'll know it's them because the message itself will have their name before the text message (displayed however you've saved it in GoogleVoice).
Example: Teresa sends a text message (Hi! It was so good to see you last weekend!) to my GoogleVoice number. Her phone number is (808) 555-1212. GoogleVoice will text my phone but it will show up as:
From (617) 121-5555: Teresa: Hi! It was so good to see you last weekend!
I will then save that (617) phone number to my contacts under Teresa. Now, when I want to call Teresa, I can dial the (617) phone number and on her caller ID it will display my Google Voice number. If I dial her actual (808) number, it will show my actual iPhone number.
The other way to call from your Apple iPhone without the app is to just call your Google Voice number and from the main menu "press 2 to make a call." Then you just dial the number. In this case, Teresa's 808#, and it will show I'm calling from the Google Voice number. This is what I do most often for calls to a business when I don't have them saved as a contact.
Last way, sign into voice.google.com in any browser. Select the phone icon and enter the contact's name if it's saved or type the actual number. Then use the drop-down menu to decide which phone you want to call from. I will choose my iPhone, then it will call me and instantly connect the call to the person I'm calling when I answer.
No app taking up space or Google tracking everywhere I go/do/search.
Only issue for me is, in late 2021, Google stopped forwarding a lot of my texts so I finally shared my actual phone number with people so I didn't have to actually log into their website to see my texts.

Oh you definitely missed something if that seems like work. Literally clicking the number from your contacts was the first way. But I understand, people like doing things the way they're used to.
I am so sorry for that. You have purchased your SIM card from best buy the offer will be not applied if you buy from the best buy. you have to buy the SIM card with plan from mint mobile website to avail 3 months+3 months free offer.
