Sometimes these deals require going in store and limited time (24-72hrs usually). It's completely free (taxes & fees not included). If you have a tax inclusive plan like magenta, then everything is free (you might still have tax/fees of 10 cents or so... pointing it out since it triggers some people). Free as long as you don't close it. If you removed any lines in past 90 days they must be added before you can add another lime that would be free. If you cancel any lines within 12 months from adding the free line you lose the discount.
You CAN port a number in while adding the free line or later down the road. If you port the number OUT later, you might lose the free line. You can remove lines after 12 months and it won't affect the free line. Generally, you can't get the free line & a free phone promotion, extremely YMMV since it works for a few people, but I wouldn't count on it.
Know the terms and conditions before making a mistake and ranting.
Edit* Terms & Conditions? 'Customers must have the "2023BYOD_P1" segment on their account in Atlas or Tapestry to qualify. Customers with no segment or "2023BYOD_P1 - Inactive" are not eligible. BYOD or FRP purchases only (EIP not eligible for life of line). Device Connection Charge is required.'

[And are you pertaining about this offer TFB: Voice Line On Us with BYOD on Any Plan
Existing T-Mobile for Business customers on an eligible rate plan can add a voice line on us (via monthly bill credits) when they have 2 or more paid voice lines on a Select or greater rate plan. This promotion is open to TFB Customer Support and TFB Inside Sales only.?]
I want to share that the last free add a line last year was painstakingly hard and took several weeks worth of back and forth calls with T-Mobile to honor their word. I had to make multiple calls in hopes to find the "right rep" that will follow through. Most argued despite my screenshots of our conversation that they can't do anything, so you have to be very persistent. Just say it was not the most pleasant conversations and use of my time.
I have the Simple Choice plan. The line was free, which wasn't an issue, but the line does NOT come with add-ons which is the key thing here. The add-ons can be unlimited data which is what I have. T-Mobile stated new lines will only have features of your base plans and will not include add-ons. In my case without the add-ons you will only have 2 GB of data which is clearly not enough in the modern day. With $6+/month of taxes on the line, it's not worth it and is technically not free. Just be forewarned that you will have an uphill battle with T-Mobile if you have a similar setup to my plan.
Make sure to keep all your text, messages, or ask the rep to notate your account and read it back to you to ensure they will follow through with their promise. Best of luck to those who qualify and pursue the journey to get a free line!
both text support and phone support at T-Mobile said plan was not eligible. Spoke to a supervisor who kindly honored the new line deal. 9 years customer.
Received email outlining new line added, responsible for paying tax each month as expected. Hopefully no surprises but all seems legit. It did take a supervisor to sort it out, but it is worth the extra time for the burner hotspot phone line. Also will just get a new # instead of porting Google voice.
