Sometimes these deals require going in store and limited time (24-72hrs usually). It's completely free (taxes & fees not included). If you have a tax inclusive plan like magenta, then everything is free (you might still have tax/fees of 10 cents or so... pointing it out since it triggers some people). Free as long as you don't close it. If you removed any lines in past 90 days they must be added before you can add another lime that would be free. If you cancel any lines within 12 months from adding the free line you lose the discount.
You CAN port a number in while adding the free line or later down the road. If you port the number OUT later, you might lose the free line. You can remove lines after 12 months and it won't affect the free line. Generally, you can't get the free line & a free phone promotion, extremely YMMV since it works for a few people, but I wouldn't count on it.
Know the terms and conditions before making a mistake and ranting.
Edit* Terms & Conditions? 'Customers must have the "2023BYOD_P1" segment on their account in Atlas or Tapestry to qualify. Customers with no segment or "2023BYOD_P1 - Inactive" are not eligible. BYOD or FRP purchases only (EIP not eligible for life of line). Device Connection Charge is required.'

Would this qualify for this free line?
I have 1 additional free phone line and 1 additional free data only line. Also have $25 tmo internet.
I chatted with tmo and they said the promo is not on my account, but they have requested it to be added and will reach out to me in a few days once they confirm.
So, worth a shot chatting. Since I'm not maxed out on lines, I think I have a chance of it being added.

App via chat. The rep said that my account is not eligible for this offer and convinced me to switch to the Go5G plan. I tried again with T-Force from Twitter and they said my account is eligible (!?). I asked them to waive the $35 fees but they only agreed to give me a one-time $15 credit to my account for being a valued customer.
From the rep, "These are the requirements for this particular offer, to clarify:
*You must have the segment: 2023byod p1 - Active on your account.
*No devices can be financed under this line.
*This is for a voice line only (cannot be a tablet, watch, etc.).
*There is a $35 plus tax Device Connection Charge due at the time of the line being added. This is a one time charge and includes a new physical SIM card, 2 business day shipping, and personalized set up."

Also the free 2nd line will have the same perks as the first?
Would this qualify for this free line?
Also the point about a debit card was that providing your bank information to T-Mobile may not be a good option in that they have been hacked.

The representative waved the $35 activation fee too.
