FYI these deals are usually for non-discounted plans: Magenta, Max, Go5g, Go5g+ (one and simple choice might qualify). Spring customers, military, 55+, metro pcs may not qualify. Either way it's best to confirm if you qualify before adding the line, otherwise it's YMMV if you add it on your own without checking.

Sometimes these deals require going in store and limited time (24-72hrs usually). It's completely free (taxes & fees not included). If you have a tax inclusive plan like magenta, then everything is free (you might still have tax/fees of 10 cents or so... pointing it out since it triggers some people). Free as long as you don't close it. If you removed any lines in past 90 days they must be added before you can add another lime that would be free. If you cancel any lines within 12 months from adding the free line you lose the discount.

You CAN port a number in while adding the free line or later down the road. If you port the number OUT later, you might lose the free line. You can remove lines after 12 months and it won't affect the free line. Generally, you can't get the free line & a free phone promotion, extremely YMMV since it works for a few people, but I wouldn't count on it.

Know the terms and conditions before making a mistake and ranting.

Edit* Terms & Conditions? 'Customers must have the "2023BYOD_P1" segment on their account in Atlas or Tapestry to qualify. Customers with no segment or "2023BYOD_P1 - Inactive" are not eligible. BYOD or FRP purchases only (EIP not eligible for life of line). Device Connection Charge is required.'

These never work with 2 lines for $70 55+ plan. You need to convert to a much more expensive plan to get the "free" one.

As a Tmobile "ONE Plan All in Promo" I've got 2 lines, for which I pay $80. I can never get them to give me a free line add on unless I change my plan to something that's going to cost me more.

I have 4 accounts on a Simple Choice North America 10GB plan and a fifth number that's on a t-mobile prepaid account on autopay that I would like to move to the 10gb simple choice plan.

Would this qualify for this free line?

I'm on simple choice (2 lines for $100 plan).

I have 1 additional free phone line and 1 additional free data only line. Also have $25 tmo internet.

I chatted with tmo and they said the promo is not on my account, but they have requested it to be added and will reach out to me in a few days once they confirm.

So, worth a shot chatting. Since I'm not maxed out on lines, I think I have a chance of it being added.

I have the same plan. I was unable to get the free line from the T-mobile
App via chat. The rep said that my account is not eligible for this offer and convinced me to switch to the Go5G plan. I tried again with T-Force from Twitter and they said my account is eligible (!?). I asked them to waive the $35 fees but they only agreed to give me a one-time $15 credit to my account for being a valued customer.
From the rep, "These are the requirements for this particular offer, to clarify:
*You must have the segment: 2023byod p1 - Active on your account.
*No devices can be financed under this line.
*This is for a voice line only (cannot be a tablet, watch, etc.).
*There is a $35 plus tax Device Connection Charge due at the time of the line being added. This is a one time charge and includes a new physical SIM card, 2 business day shipping, and personalized set up."

Ok nice…did they ask if you already have a phone or can you set that up later?

Also the free 2nd line will have the same perks as the first?

T-Mobile says this is a targeted promo so the only way to find out is to call or text them. Not all Simple Choice plans qualified, and some posts here say T-Mobile made an exception for them. It's a hit or miss basically.

Do you have to go in and make the payment with a credit card or do it online?

Also the point about a debit card was that providing your bank information to T-Mobile may not be a good option in that they have been hacked.
You can make the payment online. I would never go into a T-Mobile B&M to make a payment or anything else really. Unless it is necessary for trade-in deals or a deal that I cannot get online. Yeah, that is the only downfall of having your debit card connected to your checking account to be on T-Mobile. Yes, they have been breached many times. I think the last time they were breached was in 2021. I was affected by that breach. SMH!!! Long story short I was able to get it under control with lots of frustration. Nothing I can do about it. I blame a-holes, good-for-nothing thieves who want to make other people miserable cause they can't make an honest living. So they victimize others for their illegal sh*t.

Do they give discount on phones for existing customers?

FYI, a rep told me that my account wasn't eligible because I used '2022 BYOD Line P1' last year.
They did not specify that, but I also did the 2022 BYOD Line P1 last year and was told I was not eligible for this one. Not sure if that's an actual blocker or just coincidence. They did offer a 2-for-1 deal, but that would give me 5 lines with a 3rd paid line that I don't need. I have 2 kids on Mint where I got the 12+12 months free for Christmas 2022. Hoping to get another "taxes only" line before the plans expire. Maybe around Cyber Monday, or perhaps Tmo will offer a good deal for Mint customers to move over to the mother ship at some point...

Only what is on the TMo site for upgrades when you log in. Or when adding lines; again, when logged in. If you have 55+ now, you will need to change to something much more expensive to add any line. Bottom line for this deal: you need the code on your account to do this deal; upgrading your plan will not guarantee that.

Thank you. That is free line number seven for me.

The representative waved the $35 activation fee too.
Holy shit dude. I kinda regret getting the military plan cause I have had to miss out on every free line promo. I wish I had just kept a regular plan like you.
