FYI these deals are usually for non-discounted plans: Magenta, Max, Go5g, Go5g+ (one and simple choice might qualify). Spring customers, military, 55+, metro pcs may not qualify. Either way it's best to confirm if you qualify before adding the line, otherwise it's YMMV if you add it on your own without checking.

Sometimes these deals require going in store and limited time (24-72hrs usually). It's completely free (taxes & fees not included). If you have a tax inclusive plan like magenta, then everything is free (you might still have tax/fees of 10 cents or so... pointing it out since it triggers some people). Free as long as you don't close it. If you removed any lines in past 90 days they must be added before you can add another lime that would be free. If you cancel any lines within 12 months from adding the free line you lose the discount.

You CAN port a number in while adding the free line or later down the road. If you port the number OUT later, you might lose the free line. You can remove lines after 12 months and it won't affect the free line. Generally, you can't get the free line & a free phone promotion, extremely YMMV since it works for a few people, but I wouldn't count on it.

Know the terms and conditions before making a mistake and ranting.

Edit* Terms & Conditions? 'Customers must have the "2023BYOD_P1" segment on their account in Atlas or Tapestry to qualify. Customers with no segment or "2023BYOD_P1 - Inactive" are not eligible. BYOD or FRP purchases only (EIP not eligible for life of line). Device Connection Charge is required.'

These never work with 2 lines for $70 55+ plan. You need to convert to a much more expensive plan to get the "free" one.

As a Tmobile "ONE Plan All in Promo" I've got 2 lines, for which I pay $80. I can never get them to give me a free line add on unless I change my plan to something that's going to cost me more.

do i need to pay tax or any regulatory fees?

i see this in my email:
You will be charged a monthly Regulatory Programs ("RPF") & Telco Recovery Fee ("TRF") (not a government required tax or charge) totaling $3.49 for Voice Lines and $1.40 for Mobile Internet Lines ("MI") (subject to change without notice; plus tax). Of the $3.49 total charge for voice lines, $0.50 is applied to the RPF and $2.99 is applied to the TRF.

I have one line on Magenta and not eligible. Chat rep indicated that you need at least two lines to qualify for any line on us promo.

T-Mobile says this is a targeted promo so the only way to find out is to call or text them. Not all Simple Choice plans qualified, and some posts here say T-Mobile made an exception for them. It's a hit or miss basically.

I also just realized that this is a voice only plan so the 10gb data plan and hotspot will not be added to the the new additional 5th line.Confused

Worked via chat. Or I hope it did. Didn't have a phone with me to activate so she sent me a sim and says that the new line is activated. Do not see a new line in my account, so not sure how long it takes to show up or maybe it will not show up until I have a phone activated on it. Anyone given the free line without a phone activation able to see it on their account?

For folks adding free voice line what is the cheapest SD way to add a data and hotspot plan to this free line? Do you wait for future data plans that go on sale and then tie it to this line?

I just did the same thing and no changes appear in my account yet. But I did receive two email messages, one for order confirmation and another for service agreement.

The older grandfathered plans like Simple Choice does charge tax and fees on free lines.

I have to contact and check to see if a current paid 3 line account that's on 55+ is eligible for this free line.
Let me know! I've been on the 55+ plan since 2018 and have tried for a free line at least four times and been denied every time!

I am on simple choice with 4 lines (and one OLD digits line that's never been used) and was told by chat I am eligible. However, I've been chatting for about 1.5 hours now and they're dealing with "errors" on the account. Fingers crossed. I was ineligible last year.
