To people who can't spend the 8k. I normally pay my property taxes they charge 2% fee but this card gives back 1% so you pay 1% on 8k spent. Ie pay 80 dollars to get 1k bonus.
Also you can make estimated payments on your federal tax I believe it's 1.87% fee then reduce your withholdings to pay less to account for estimated payment. Otherwise get it back next year as refund etc..
Ever sell something on ebay? At a garage sale? Look, you have a business!

Ever have an IDEA for a business but haven't done anything with it yet? Look, you have a business!

Apply as a sole proprietorship, the business name is the same as your name, the EIN is your SSN.

You can do considerably better than 3 cents a point with most business and first class airline transfers (a booking to Japan earlier this year in business was about 7.4 cents a point for me for example though this is toward the high end)

Also I'd double check your "normally" results- 3 cents is high for typical Hyatt use, 2-2.5 is more typical.

Mind you- Hyatt is still worth doing compared to the portal or PYB or taking it as cash-- and even usually beats coach airfare values--- but typically is inferior to biz/first plane tickets via transfers.

How much are you spending that you're earning 3 million UR every year?
Unless you have a slick deal on a time machine, that's not a useful data point.

This is actually a much LOWER spend that it has been for most of the last couple years- normally it's been 15k for this card.

Haven't been able to book travel with rewards for days. Anyone else? Have tried the app and various browsers.

If I recalled it was only $6K for 100K SUP, how fast it jumped to $8K

Applied. Said in review. I got the sapphire in April so I wonder if that is an issue.

That was my point.

If you want higher value you usually don't bother using CSR and the portal- you transfer directly to the airline and book with the airline.

You book business or first class seats with the airline.

Where you can routinely get 3-6 cents per point in cash-equivalent value, rather than the 1.5 cents the CSR portal gets you.

Even in coach you can often beat 1.5 cents a point with direct airline bookings to most destinations most of the time.

You can also beat 1.5 cents by transfers to Hyatt and booking hotel rooms that way.

The CSR portal at 1.5c is only rarely worth using.... One example is if you specifically MUST book southwest airlines, because transfers don't usually beat 1.5c with them in particular and they don't have real higher classes of service to book.
Can you elaborate about the 3-6 cents part

Not sure what was unclear?

Transferring to airlines then booking business or first class tickets routinely return value in the range I indicated. Sometimes more.

For example I transferred 85k Amex points to ANA a few months ago and booked a roundtrip ticket US to Japan in The Room (their premium business class product) with those points.

That's a $7000 ticket if you paid cash.

Meaning even pulling out the tax cost I got cash-equivalent-value of about 7.4 cents a point.... which is on the high end but gives you an idea what I'm talking about... I've had bookings more in that 3-6 cent range for biz to/from Europe a number of times with Aer Lingus, TAP, Singapore, etc...

I see now. Thanks.
Of course, getting tickets directly from the airlines with the 1:1 transfer miles is the best value.

Thanks for the info, just wondering if ANA The Room (their premium business class product) can let you lie down sleep? Thanks.

Of course- nearly all airlines business class overseas products do that, though this one is especially nice

What he said. Travel redemption is always best.

Cash back is only worth it if you don't intend to travel and do anything like this ever. For me, I always stock pile points (and leverage transfer bonuses) for long haul business

I received 100k points. When I try to book flight or hotel it shows it's equal to $1000 value. So it shows the same value as I would apply these points to cc statement.
I thought 100k points should be equal to $1250 when you use them for travel. Any experts here to advise? Thank you !

How long must I wait to receive the signon bonus again if I already signed up for this card and got the bonus in the past?

Do you have more than one chase card? Some offer higher or lower value in the portal, is it possible you're looking at the booking from the perspective of one of the lower value cards?

Also, as mentioned, transfer to airlines (or Hyatt in the case of hotels) will typically beat the value, even at 1.25x, of portal bookings unless you have very specific travel requirements transfers won't work for for some reason.

Yes, I also have 2 more chase cards - freedom and Slate which I consolidated with my new ink business unlimited. Chase rep moved these 2 personal cards into business ink account. I access travel section at chase dot com by clicking on Chase business ink card and then use redeem points link.
in my travel plans is to book Hilton hotel in Hawaii and use united air line or AA or hawaii airline. Thank you for your response!
