Also you can make estimated payments on your federal tax I believe it's 1.87% fee then reduce your withholdings to pay less to account for estimated payment. Otherwise get it back next year as refund etc..
Ever have an IDEA for a business but haven't done anything with it yet? Look, you have a business!
Apply as a sole proprietorship, the business name is the same as your name, the EIN is your SSN.
You can do considerably better than 3 cents a point with most business and first class airline transfers (a booking to Japan earlier this year in business was about 7.4 cents a point for me for example though this is toward the high end)
Also I'd double check your "normally" results- 3 cents is high for typical Hyatt use, 2-2.5 is more typical.
Mind you- Hyatt is still worth doing compared to the portal or PYB or taking it as cash-- and even usually beats coach airfare values--- but typically is inferior to biz/first plane tickets via transfers.
How much are you spending that you're earning 3 million UR every year?
This is actually a much LOWER spend that it has been for most of the last couple years- normally it's been 15k for this card.

This is the way
I have a $9000 tax bill to the IRS for 2023. I want to get this card, put $8000 on it, get the bonus, and pay the remaining $1000 via ACH.
Will that work?
I'm a sole proprietor business owner
I thought same but their limit is so low not like personal cards where I get 25 30 k here it's 6k and IRS doesn't accept split payments
I don't think that's the case.

The IRS will take split, partial, whatever. You send and they'll take it. It's just matter of paying on time and by the deadlines. It's all credited to your tax account.
...what?
First- why would you need to 'float" it for 3 months? It's not like you're loaning chase 8k for 3 months and getting 1k in interest.
The point is put actual real life spend on it, and get a much higher reward rate compared to other options.
Spend 8k, immediately pay it off, get 100k UR points as a reward.
Second, that could be a lot more than $1000--- for folks who take premium flights it could be 10 times that. Even just for folks who, say, stay at Hyatt hotels, it can be 2-3k.
Yup, I've had years where I knocked out 3-4 signup bonuses just from income tax payments.

IRS doesn't allow partial tax payment option isn't it
Also you can make estimated payments on your federal tax I believe it's 1.87% fee then reduce your withholdings to pay less to account for estimated payment. Otherwise get it back next year as refund etc..
yes if you prepay your federal tax you basically loose any interest during that time but you get the bonus and you get it back via tax filing next year.

Ideally closer to 5k would be easier. 8k is quite a lot.
