Keep in mind that this is not a smart home device. There is no connectivity. It is literally a very high pitched, shrill alarm that activates when the magnetic connection is broken. There are a ton of brands that make these in bulk so don't feel like this is some special thing just because it is a Phillips branded product.

I had a 12 pack of these types of alarms I bought 5 years ago. They work but only if you go out of town and want that little extra peace of mind or if you mount them on windows and doors you rarely ever use. The reason for this is that you actually have to manually turn them on when you want them to be active and off when you don't want the alarm to go off (and you definitely don't want it going off as you walk into your back yard). In the end, I realized that I use all of our doors way too much and don't want to have to turn them on but hand every single night as I go to bed. It is good in theory but terrible in practice when it comes to doors. Windows would be my primary use for these if you choose to get them. Of course, I'm speaking from my own use-case experience and realize there are plenty of other relevant ways these can be implemented for people. For an everyday security for doors around your own house, I do not find them convenient at all and they have all managed to be taken down over the last few years to be replaced with smart devices.

These aren't restickable right? So not a good option for temporary use on like a hotel door?

Thanks. This helps. Is there a smart version controlled by phone?

You could use the removable stretching tape, like command hooks use.

Are these water proof? They'd be useful in the backyard for the gate since I rarely use it.

The thumbnail looked like the motion sense type. Reminded me I can be like Donnie Yen in John Wick 4 if I were ever blind...
..but then I clicked the link and these are the solenoid type.

Wyze has something like this and it was IOT. The first version had a flaw in that the unit bricked if the battery ran to zero. Later they rewuired a base station.

Dollar Tree often has these in stock. I think $1.25 is about the right price.

we have these on our front and back door mostly to make sure our young kids (2 and 5) don't sneak out in the middle of the night since they know how to unlock doors now. Our front door is wood and we spray painted the alarm brown to blend in and still works fine. have been running on original batteries for 2 or 3 years now

I am still using the dollar shops version for the past 6 years and yes I bought it at 1 $ and not more. Only batteries are changed twice. BTW the Dollar Shop version has 3 batteries and I guess the sound is less than the spects of these (Though I don't believe any written spects anymore coz our Chines friends know how to manipulate numbers as they like.

WiFi Door Alarm System, Wireless DIY Smart Home Security System, with Phone APP Alert, 8 Pieces-Kit (Alarm Siren, Door Window Sensor, Remote), Work with Alexa, for House, Apartment, Alpha by tolviviov https://a.co/d/7tWKhTE

If you don't want to turn on all your alarms manually, this lets you do it from a remote, app/Google home, or schedule. Purely deterrence with 0 protection but worth the peace of mind when you're sleeping and travelling.
FYI, this is SlickInfo. I don't endorse this product.
