R-120SW is great, R-100SW is great, and the R-10SW is great.. but for whatever reason, they did something weird on the R-12SW where it's very "muddy" and loose sounding in comparison. The 10/100/120SW all give a nice punchy bass, which the 12SW Lacks.
I've owned all 4 (multiples of the R-12SW's because they were cheap) and as much as I prefer the 12", I'd take the smaller 10SW (or 100SW) over the 12SW.

This is the Way. Snagged an open box 10" V-2 Saturday night for $349. Saw it posted to SD and now they're OOS. So excited.
Yes you should
What do you mean?
That's more than double the price and you need to find an open box. Apples and oranges.

Two subs are the minimum if you want to start to even out the peaks and dips in low frequency response in a typical room. 2 is good. 4 is ideal. It's impossible to get even bass response with 1 sub. Not my opinion. It's physics.

Two 'cheap' subs are better than one slightly better sub. A lot subjective though.
'Bass' a very confusing idea, I recently found out after starting out to build a good budget home audio setup.
Based on my research so far, Dayton sub 1200 is good, PE has it for 180, plus some discount for July 4.

If you can find a used ones - bic formula f12, jbl stage a100p and a120p, Polk hts10, xt12 are good choices.

"Better" is going to rely heavily on setup and placement, which people don't tend to focus on because of bad advice being given out for years to just stick it anywhere.
A "good" sub won't perform to its fullest if poorly placed.
Regardless, science says you can't get even bass in a typical room without at least two subs unless you do a LOT of moving and measuring, and then the results you get will only apply to one fixed seat.
I'm using a pair of svs subs.
