You're better off sucking it up and buying a small wood stove that's more efficient and less smokey.

Barrel stoves suck. They waste heat and make lots of creosote.

Single site camping probably where you arent hiking very far and in a large group to splitup much of the load as these things are pretty heavy (20+ lbs). Maybe even vehicle camping.

Used in the barn shop during the winter, did the double kit as well, pointed a cheap box fan to move the cold air on the floor right over them. Took about 30 minutes or so to bring a 40x60 with 10' ceilings to the mid 60's from below freezing.
Make sure your first burn is outside so you bake off whatever was inside and bake the outside paint off.
