Does it have an ending? Or there's no point in buying it?
1. I think it's a bit of a stretch to call that "Sci-fi," let alone "good."
2. I have to actually *like* it for the curse to work, unfortunately.
But, hey, I'll still take the money to give it a try! 😁
If by "it" you mean Firefly (since the answer to that for Timeless has already been answered by others above), then sort of: it's the *only* show I'm aware of that was cancelled in the middle of it's first season to get a full-blown theatrical release movie made shortly thereafter.
It's a long story, but the shorter version is that the show was never handled well by Fox: scheduled for Fridays at 9 PM (a.k.a. the time slot of death), poorly promoted, bumped out of it's time slot for the world series, etc. It's telling that it's ratings (despite all the above) were very consistent at roughly 4 million viewers throughout the run - if the show sucked that would've dropped significantly.
The movie does a reasonable job of wrapping up some major plot points, but not others as they obviously were hoping to continue the story. Alas, poor marketing struck again - the ads showed some of the humor, but didn't give any idea what it was about, let alone any reason for someone to be interested in the story it had to tell. At least they didn't make it seem like you had to have watched the show to appreciate it (which the movie does an amazing job of catching the audience up on the important parts in just the first five minutes), but without providing a reason to care enough to want to go see the movie that didn't help much.
It's a great, funny, character-driven show that will unfortunately leaving you wanting more, but I'd say you'll still be glad you gave it a shot - better to have loved and lost, and all that.
