this fits in the lian li mini 011? cause i think they sell the case with the psu sfx combo, and i have an aio im using now , this would be an cheap upgrade from the 9700 i7 for me

It's fine. It has the same chances of being bad as any other mainstream brand. Their oem is a Taiwanese company named Chunwell

Good point. Mostly I'm looking for a decent all around setup for multimedia (gaming, occasional media production, etc) once my i7-6700K and/or GTX 1080 die. I don't need a beast of a machine, just one that will play the games that I want at half decent specs and tolerate some video/audio editing, hopefully with some okay VR future-proofing for the next few years. How does each package look with that in mind?

Probably good for another 2 gens i7 15xxx and 5000 nvidia..or 4000 on clearance 2y from now.

That deal is ddr4, so if you already have a ddr4 based system it would allow you to reuse your existing RAM and save some money. This deal is ddr5 and includes ram, so while it costs a good bit more, you are a little bit future-proofed since not only could you upgrade to a 13th generation cpu, you can likely reuse this ddr5 in your next system.
