This is either a sponsored post, or an abuse of staff resources...

1%? Seriously.

If it is like previous prime days, there might be select items with something like 10% on Prime Card.

1% might not seem whole lot but from their pov judging from previous years (12bil$ in sales) its like giving away 120 million to users if everybody had that card
I'll take the free extra 1%, why not.

Wow tough crowd. If you have a 2% credit card and the provider came back and said we are reducing it to a 1% card, no problem it's just a single percentage point....you would drop that card immediately, no?

if my everyday 2% raised a single lousy percentage point to 3% on everything, I would promote it to my best card and start using it immediately for "everything."

what this means is this: on prime day instead of choosing all those other credit cards in my wallet, i'll probably use the chase amazon card even if it's just for another 1%. ymmv

That's not really the best comparison, mathematically. The difference between 2% and 1% or 3%, is a 50% change, which is obviously far more significant than 5% is to 6% (just a 20% change).

sure, same could be said about the 1% when you buy an $1800 projector. takes more of the bite out of sales taxes and for some, 5% to 6% could effectively mean "no sales tax." Wink
