I wouldn't call this a SlickDeal more of a SlackDeal.

I bought one thinking I could just use it as a cool digital desk clock. It's too small even for that, plus I couldn't figure out how to turn off the ticking noise.
Ended up returning it
It is totally unplayable. My six year old has no patience for the brutal 80s games, and it's so small that my 40ish eyes can't see the screen properly. It's like playing a game on a postage stamp.

I have both. Mario is a better clock in my opinion. Regardless I'm literally in the same position as you. My 6 year old couldn't handle the games either. With some hacking, I put a GBC Pokemon game on the Zelda one. Much more useful. GB games were designed for a smaller screen. (Though not this small)
The process for hacking this was way more involved than expected though. I would not recommend unless you're comfortable with some JTAG shenanigans.
Yeah, never heard of them.

I found this to be untrue after thinking it would be the case.
A kind family friend gave us an NES along with Zelda II (with that beautiful golden cartridge) and Mario/Duck Hunt and Mario 3 around 1992-93 since they were upgrading to a Super Nintendo and also probably because we were super poor at the time. I loved that console! The kids next door (also on hard times) taught me how to get through the underwater levels and other basic strategy stuff that I guess used to get passed from kid to kid back in the day. Now my own kids enjoy the old NES game library on Nintendo Switch online PLUS the added convenience of being able to save your progress! Watching them play those games again brings me back. Just writing this stuff down makes me thankful. #blessed
You just have to keep the USB cable plugged in and there are some stands/mounts you can 3d print or even buy online from specialty shops
I'd kill for a Metroid version but I doubt it will ever happen
