Lol didn't seem that hard to justify since you listed the reasons in your little rant ha.
I love these because I may or may not have m2 slots, but I'm basically guaranteed to have sata. Also sata is backwards compatible, I once had a newer generation m2 nvme that wouldn't work with an older nvme slot. I was not happy.
This is a fantastic deal, I just bought this from Microcenter for the same price.
Not really. SSDs are much easier to integrate without issues, specifically...heat.
I'm not anti-NVME, but to pass over SSDs just because a newer tech is out there isn't the way to go exclusively.
I run 8 SSDs (all Samsung) on my i9 system and works flawlessly, just like my prior system that had 7 SSDs. The only thing I have dilemma about is upgrading my 1TB drives. As 2TB prices get around $100, I will be replacing them sooner than later and using my 1TB drives as gaming drives.
I also have a 620slim with all 1TB Samsungs and works with no issues---try doing that with NVME.
ITX motherboard and case
Motherboard with only 1 NVME...then what do I do with a second NVME drive and no port for it?
NVME costs $10 more plus $15 adapter...so what am I buying for an extra $25? I would expect 25% better performance.

3/10ths of a second faster in booting? 7/10s of a second faster into BF5? Weird flex, but you do you.
Hard to justify having a strong opinion when there are 7.6 billion people with 7.6 billion needs.
I am looking at upgrading my old 1151 to a 4770K, throw in a larger SSD because the Z97 chipset doesn't boot to PCIE and has no NVME slots, and Imma throw it in to my living room as a 3d PC to game from. And get well over 60FPS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmndOiV
My main PC has 2 SSDs mirrored to hold all of my photos. I get plenty fast editing and redundancy. And, I lower my risk my not constantly writing to the drive like I do with my main OS so it is more likely I my photos do not become corrupted.

I stick these in every pc with without a slot or NVMe. Instant upgrade particularly for grandma's pc she uses for browsing only. Upgraded probably 50 devices

I love this drive ❤️
Bless you for spreading the gospel of SSDs. Booting from HDD instead of SSD should be outlawed. I feel bad for those people using old PCs booting from HDD that have no idea spending say just ~$30 on a 500GB SSD would vastly improve their experience.

I'm not a gamer so I'm not making claims about that, however, real world usage is really the same for 99% of people.
Note: I also have SK Hynix in both interfaces, WD SN850x, etc. and I do want faster SSDs with cache when moving large amounts of video, but otherwise, meh... Buy what you want but don't buy cheap chinese junk...
The price is the same at Samsung.com (1 min ago) and I really want this in 4TB for a *great* price.
