I have the max 10 lines so I would need to do the "upgrade" since I don't have any lines to add.
If I read this right, I can trade in my iphone 7 for $629 against a $629 iphone 12.
I can't imagine why they would give me $629 credit on an old 7. Is that amount unlikely?
yeah, but then I assume you're stuck waiting 2 years for it and having to do a new line or maybe not the new line if you are replacing your main phone?
I am existing and it seemed to say it was only when transferring a number?
no, I was surprised too. I was able to get the 800 trade in on my existing line. The 800 is split over 24 months. This brought down my monthly payment just for the phone down to 8.30 a month. Most of the time these great deals are only when adding a line, or coming from another carrier. I was very surprised when I was able to get it just for replacing my main phone as an existing customer.

so did they send the new phone before you shipped in the one you were using? And do you think they'd reject mine because riiiight on the very edge there is a tiny black sot of I guess a few dead pixels? I wonder if the sides of the phone itself must be absolutely perfect too with no imperfections.

they did ship me the phone immediately. you have 15 days to ship back the phone you are trading in. I can't say on what they would reject. they only ask to questions. Does the phone power on? and I think the second was is it free of cracks? Not positive. you can check the questions by just adding a phone to your cart and quickly answering the tradein questions. It will tell you right there whether or not you are eligible for the 800

Also, I did just get the email today that they accepted the phone and will apply the 800 to my 24mo worth of bills. Still can't believe what a deal this was. Good luck!

I just can't decide if it's really worth it, though. I have an iphone 12 and I'm just not so sure if I really need anything newer. But since I am supposedly getting $35 off my internet each month for 2 years by having xfinity mobile, the whole taking 24 months part doesn't even matter. lol. So I could get a 14 for a bit over $100 or maybe the $13 would be closer to free. But I am a tad nervous on the phone. On the side of it there is a tiny little place where I guess paint wore off, a tiny fraction of an inch. Then on the screen all the way at the dge there's a small little circle, which I assume is dead pixels.

I think it's a decent deal for iPhone upgrade existing line since not all deals work with upgrades and potential problems with e-SIM and trying to switch lines for new line deals only.
I don't think T-Mobile is going to offer any good iPhone trade-in upgrade deals on the older, cheaper plans anymore. So I guess it's not the norm anymore to be able to trade-in upgrade 2+ yr old iPhones for the newest on a cheap plan.
Samsung deals should come back July 26 (I think) with the new phones (flip/fold). Not sure if it'll be as good as the Samsung deal that just finished, though.
For comparison and not including targeted deals...before last BF was $400 off including existing lines, last years BF deal was just $500 off with new line and port. Then last March was basically this deal but without the upgrade existing line option.
Year before last (I think) they had good deals, though. But that included trade-in boosts for any $1+ phone in their trade-in list...which they seemingly no longer do.
I don't think I was charged an upgrade fee when I got a new phone earlier this year.
I tried to upgrade using an existing line and at first, I got this message:
"This number is already in use"
Are you upgrading or replacing a device on an existing line? If not, go back and select "I want a new number."
I kept clicking the "Replace a Device" button and it finally progressed to the "Trade-in phone" details page.
I added the IMEI # and selected the phone's original carrier (Verizon) and 128GB.
Clicking the "Add to Cart" button give this message:

How much time did they take since receiving your phone to accept the trade in? Will they apply the monthly credit retroactively?
I am still waiting for them to accept my trade in. Been a couple of weeks since they received it.

$830 - $700 TRADE - $100 PORT GC - $50 NEW LINE CB - $x Xfinity Rewards
Free iPhone 11 to 14 Pro Max upgrade if you got the max Xfinity Rewards.
As far as trade-in value...the Samsung promo had overall higher values. I think some phones that were $1000 are now only $700.
