How old is this controller? I just can't get over the fact that someone is still making micro USB devices.

Controller was designed/released around 2017. They make the same controller with different faces.

So 6+ years old.

USB C is only the connector. It can be as slow as USB 2.0 depending on how it's wired up. Yeah the type C cables are a little more expensive than micro B cables but the port and connector are more robust and convenient. Lightning cables max out at USB 2.0 speeds so I don't know why you brought that up.
