The real world performance difference is minimal though.
The lowest price for these official filters on record is $60 for a 2 pack at costco. I'd honestly rather buy from costco, since amazon and fakes and such.
The hepa filter will eventually become too clogged to vacuum and will start to smell

What do you do to reactivate or whatever the charcoal filter?
Both filters should be replaced. I've heard you can reactivate the carbon filter by throwing it in the oven, but all that does is release the gasses that it absorbed.

Look, we don't live in sterile lab environments. You could have had more dust because the air quality was worse that week. These things are good at helping keeping things clean, not keeping them clean forever.
There's always going to be dust in the air as long as there's any kind of movement or people/animals. Unless of course you live in a box with no doors and windows.
