You certainly don't need 32gb DDR5 RAM for every application, but it seems like in this configuration at this price point, they would've included 32, not 16. Not hating the deal, just commenting on the config.

You're getting the absolute top of the line processor, amazing screen, full-blown 4080 and what not at this price, and you guys are still crying over the RAM being 16GB and 4800MHz? That literally should be your least concern.

You guys would be shown paradise and you would still complain about its escalators being slow (yes, I watched a lot of Tom & Jerry).

You can easily drop 2x16gb sodimms in the laptop to go 32gb max. Also extra M2 slot for more storage as well.

What's the issue with ddr5-4800? I build my own gaming rigs, but I'm not an expert when it comes to ram and laptops. I'd appreciate any insight you may have.

Non soldered Sodimm ddr5 only go to 5600mhz with average latency and timings ne costs a lot. 4800mhz is plenty fine for laptop CPU's. Probably only losing a small amount of fps.

Some light and thin laptop have soldered memory up to 6400mhz+

What's the build quality like on this? I can pick up a heavy ThinkPad from the corner and it doesn't flex, and I don't worry about creaks and anything wearing out. If there's a plastic body on this without an internal frame it seems it might be a bit flimsy... Is it? How are hinges on 10 year old Asus laptops?

I have an older G15. Watch out for heating issues due to poor soldering and the fan is loud as heck, but otherwise an amazing machine. No problems after buying open box via best buy

I feel like this is pretty much it, unless you want to wait for the holiday sales later this year...

-great monitor with 500 nits

-num pad

-thunderbolt 4

-4080

...Only cons i notice is the low storage (which im assuming is soldered) and the size (7-10lbs)

Appreciate the post. Looks like mods have the best buy one labeled as a 15.6 (they are both 18)
