You're getting the absolute top tier Intel i9 of the current gen, full powered RTX 4080, and a superior QHD full color coverage 18" display; the latter usually being FHD 360Hz or 480Hz from other manufacturers at this price.
The weight of this for an 18" is actually not that much, you have the Dell Alienware m16 that weighs more than this despite being a 16".
The legion pro is the closest competition but then again that's an entirely different size category, being a 16".
The RAM and SSD can be upgraded but the other things, can't.

That said, I agree that this capacity is rather low for a high-end gaming laptop. My 2013 gaming laptop has 32GB of DDR3 installed.
I guess they had to cut corners somewhere to hit this price point.

Digging deeper into reviews across sites, it stands out compared to other 18in like Alienware or Razer as it's much lighter than AW and a tad lighter + thinner than Razer.
I think it's still THE best 18in gaming laptop to buy right now.
