M2 Air has bigger screen, better camera, MagSafe charging to free up a usb-c port, brighter screen, full size function keys to name a few differences. BT and Wifi are more current, newer processor, etc. Yes , slower SSD speed but for most people not a problem.

Isn't this MacBook Air cheaper at Apple's education website? It's $999 with $150 apple gift card.

The m1 chip version is cheaper by $200. Reviews indicate not a significant change in M2. Look into it before jumping on the deal.

Using Whisky and Apple GPTk, you can surprisingly run a lot of Windows PC games (albeit pretty slowly). Just shocking how efficient these Apple Silicone chips are that it can do to layers of emulation and still make things playable. And this is with a Developer preview build...

On my M1 Pro, I can run Elden Ring at 30-40fps. Give it a few months and it'll be 60fps consistently.

Sadly, I doubt anti-cheat will ever work so not likely to be able to play most multi-player games without a native port.

Won't even buy it at $700. The $500 oled 120hz i5 12500h windows laptop is even better.
Which one

Check your email if you're planning to get this. Costco might have send you a 50$ coupon a couple of weeks ago to bring it down to $900. Found from the other thread about m1 mac

Slower SSD may be a problem if you only have 8GB of ram (i.e. swap may be slower).
I don't know the exact details of how much slower the SSD is so it could be negligible.

Definitely 512GB if you are going to stick with 8GB RAM.
