The specification does not indicate the setting out of the box, but the RTX 4060 has a variable TGP that the user can configure, between 35 and 115 watts.
- Response from hp team.
Also, something to keep in mind is that the usb-c ports do not support monitors through the GPU. I went into the Nvidia settings and it showed that the only port that connects to the GPU is the HDMI. It does however have HDMI 2.1.
Compared to the other laptop deals this one looks very good, I just don't know why HP doesn't put numpad on a 16" laptop.

This or Dell m15 r7 3070ti.. so confused now
If gaming is your main purpose, keep Alienware. This is not a gaming laptop by any means and the maximum combined power (CPU+GPU) it can handle, is way lesser than Alienware m15 series. This is a productivity laptop, similar to XPS 15. You can definitely game on it but not like a powerful gaming laptop.

Any recommendation for deep learning laptop?
Look, I don't have much practical experience in Deep learning, only worked on some basic machine learning projects. However, what I can understand, if you are working on Professional level, both AMD and nVidia have dedicated GPU for that, like Nvidia Hopper H100.
However, in laptop market, what I can understand, both RTX 3000 and 4000 series cards han accelerate Deep learning performance by using their tensor cores, due to having the ability to perform asynchronous transfers between global and shared memory.

So, I think RTX 4060 will be okay for that. If you want more performance, then get something with RTX 4070.

Is the weight (5.9 lbs) a deterrent? I understand that gaming or high end laptops get heavy, but is it possible to make them lighter?

While I much prefer Alienware as a brand, it should be noted some of the specs on the m15 are arguably not as good and TGP can be adjusted on this HP's GPU.

One correction, this RTX 4060 has 8GB GDDR6 not 6GB as stated in the OP.

It's fixed now. Good deal, thanks OP!

Pretty sure I know the answer to this but don't feel like setting up a new computer...just bought this two weeks ago from Costco, this is a much better deal and worth taking the Costco computer back, right?

I know is troublesome to setting up again but this vs the Costco one. This is miles better for lower price.

Hmmm. I just bought the ROG Zephyrus M16 for $999. I use it for gaming and creating. But now I am questioning if for just $100 more I will regret not swapping it for this laptop.

I have been using LG grams since for the last 3 years, was about to pull the trigger on LG gram with an rtx 3050. That thing is awesome when it comes to mobility but just could not justify spending $1500 on a laptop with a 3050 and no memory upgrades.

Anyone know if omen command center works on this laptop? Or if there's anything similar for it. Mostly I want to be able to turn off the rtx 4060 and switch to igpu only without going into bios. And I want to be able to configure the cpu tdp and wattage like you can with asus.
