I see what you did there.. very clever. Even better, copying and pasting same comment to every Amazon thread you see. A man with a mission, you go girl!

I make my.own pods by 1) saving the plastic seed cage from the original aerogarden pack, 2) buying a 50 pack of the brown sponges from Amazon or AliExpress for $10 3)using foil over the top instead of the sticker that the seed pods come with.

Amazon and AliExpress also sell full kits for pretty cheap. Then I just buy seeds from the garden shop or Etsy depending on how weird of seeds I want to grow.

-edit-

this sale going on on amazon is definitely the way to go for doing your own seed pods:

Pretty good price for the harvest. Their regular prices are absurd but if you are willing to make your own seed pods, the aerogardens can be fun and cost effective at the sale prices.

I got in on the Macy's $40 harvest slim and I am enjoying it.

How does this compare to https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTNWR8L7? This one can grow 12 pods, 36W LED, 4.5L tank, 19" height, all for around $55. Seems like a way better deal no?

How is this for growing Cannabis a/k/a that magic wacky weed?

Figure I might give it a go now that it's a legal thing to do.

2/3s of the lights went out on mine and it appears upon reaching out to customer service they no longer do replacement parts. A little disappointing to me to have to toss a big hunk of plastic after a couple years.

I have a cheaper version/brand, two actually and haven't had any issues.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BCXWWGRP

The one you linked has a 4.5 liter tank compared to 6.5 - personally, I find filling them to be a bit of a chore and would opt for the larger tank. I can't speak to the 24w vs 36w lights. Things seem to grow fine in mine but I'm curious if higher wattage would result in faster growth.

I don't have an aerogarden so I can compare to it.

When I grew, you needed lights in the hundreds of watts, plus they can get really tall.

I'd imagine this would be terrible for growing cannabis.

Its also way easier to keep the ph and nutrients where they should be with more water.

Tempted to get one of the bigger off-brand ones, but am kinda worried about what plastic they are using

The sponges are just compressed peat and all the other components are recyclable. I got a big bag of peat at Lowe's for $8 and use some small plastic tubes from a broken kids toy as forms. Get a handful of peat wet in a small bowl, smash it into the tubes with the back end of a chopstick, pop em out and let them dry overnight. Viola!

I'd not hold out for the slim. Sales like this don't seem to be common.
