But basically Amazon will allow you to apply the promo code but it won't give you any actual feedback that it has applied. Those who try to apply the code again will see the message that the code can't be applied (because it has already been applied to your account).
Generally for those codes that give Amazon credit back, terms and condition indicate it can take up to 3 days to receive. In actual practice, last year users were receiving the credit in about a day.
Regarding the terms of the offer. From the gift card product page, at the bottom, you will find "Special offers and product promotions" colored in bold orange text. I'm going to use Uber's gift card page as an example. In this section, it will link to the offer items and provide terms of condition such as seen here:

edit: I see "Items with additional rewards" on mobile app checkout screen for additional % prime store card use but no bonus credit mentioned. seems like you just have to have faith it will appear in a few days
