DeOxit. It's a cheap spray that fixes most scratchy pots (and switches that aren't performing as they should). They sell it online or in Guitar Center.
No. They are not gauranteed to be new. Just because you ordered one and it looks new doesn't mean everyone will get the same.
I've ordered multiple guitars from them, both Used and Open Box. And it has been a toss up between the guitar looking brand new, or obviously being a return unit with issues.
People need to be aware and prepared to in fact receive a used item when ordering a used item. Or an open box item that someone returned because it had an issue.
Not an Amazon exclusive. Proaudiostar has had this same sale going for a bit.
It's not exactly the same sale. ProAudioStar is selling used 40th Anniversary Squiers for $250, then they are listing Open Box instruments for $280, but most of those listings are out of stock. Then they have new 40th Squiers listed for $300 to $320, with a lot of those also being OOS.

those "Used" guitars have a high chance of being new. I ordered the seafoam strat and it was a completely sealed box, no signs of other labels on the box, the bubble wrap was still taped to the inner box with no signs of prior removal all of the plastic still on the guitar and tags. I guess the only downside is maybe the ability of waranty claim.
The Jazzmasters are definately out of stock at PAS.

it all depends on what color you want I guess.
I agree. I ordered an open-box Squier Classic Vibe 60 P Bass, and it arrived brand new unopen in a box at 50% off, and it had no issues. However, my friend ordered CV 70 P Bass, and he has scratchy pot. Pro Audio Star wanted a fee to return, so he kept it. These deals may be the same as Pro Audio Star, but given that one will get a better warranty and return policy... Thumb ups!!!!

Phillip McKnight reviewed a brand new 40th Anniversary Strat on his YT channel and it had a scratchy pot also.

Yeah, they can leave the factory like that. He sprayed something on the pot underneath and it solved it.

Correct but it's going to depend on the amount of volume they are trying to move. I have ordered multiple as well and only 2 have shown designs of being an actual bstock the other being a "used" guitar that had another label on the box but the guitar looked untouched.
Every used/open box squier I have ordered from them has been untouched. My best guess here is the volume of the guitars they have in stock.
Has anyone had a bad experience ordering a guitar with Amazon being the seller/shipper? I've read a couple of comments that said it didn't go well. But it's a small sample size. I've tried to order from guitar stores on Amazon.

I always make sure the item is sold and shipped by Amazon. It makes for the easiest returns if an issue arises and a return is needed. That way you deal with Amazon directly and not some 3rd party seller.

Good to know you've found Amazon has done instruments well. I bought a 40th Anniversary Tele recently via Amazon from Empire Music. Came packaged very well. I'd buy from them again. There are also sellers like Pitbull and Music Live I've bought from on Reverb that are excellent.
