Is this the old T-Mobile one? Does anyone know if you can mesh them? I guess I could Google it but I'm in the middle of mowing my lawn. LOL
No. The TMobile was essentially an AC68U where this is an AC67P.
The Asus comparison is a little unclear, but the 68 is 2x the cost, supports AIMesh, and has more RAM. Not sure if there are any other meaningful differences.
Per product page: Powered by 5G Wi-Fi and 256 QAM technology that delivers a total speed of up to 1900 Mbps (600Mbps for 2.4GHz, 1300Mbps for 5GHz), which provides you 4K streaming without lagging or jumping

I have the old T-Mobile/Asus TM-AC1900. I moved to a fiber connection and used the ATT fiber router for a while but hated that I couldn't change DNS or have parental controls so I added the TM-AC1900 behind the fiber router. I didn't realize how man features that old TM-AC1900 had.
I picked one up yesterday and received it today. Setup was simple and coverage is excellent. This has USB 3.0 which I plan to use for NAS storage. Old FW but the price reflects that.
Once more people get access to 2 Gig fiber, that ancient relic will be a major bottleneck on a normal network connection. Technically already is as if you get a Xfinity XB7 with a 2.5 Gig port and Comcast 1 Gig service via docsis 3.1, that modem can give a router with a 2.5 Gig port up to 1.6 Gigs per second on that plan.
I'm only on 300Mbps fiber so I'll upgrade once I see a deal on a router with good parental controls.
This is a very good, secure router for those not gaming or with speeds around 500Mbps or less.
It's been extremely reliable and only requires firmware updates around 1x/year. I've been using it for lobby wifi for an apartment building for two years and also as a replacement for my parents home for almost as long. I even bought one myself when it was $49 last Xmas, so I had an extra router lying around.

While this is a good brand, this is a very very old middle end AC wifi 5 unit, so spending $40 on old wifi 5 gear this late in the game is a major waste of resources. Just wait for a low end wifi 6 router to go on sale if you really want a new router. The TP-Link AX1800 one has been as low as $50 when on sale in the past. There have been occasional Netgears around $50-$60.
Dont waste your money on outdated tech, even if you only have slower speeds because your still missing out on the passive benefits of wifi 6 like better bandwidth control, modulation, WPA3, and many others which improve the wifi experience in general. Especially since anything techie most people purchased in the last 2 years probably came with wifi 6.

You realize that most people don't have access to any fiber provider, and that most cable MSO's still offer plenty of plans well below the 1gbps mark?
The reason to be wary of old routers is ancient and potentially insecure firmware, not because they only have a 1000 mbps WAN port.
