I'd say most of these trimmers are like that and for $11 it's pretty much a disposable product anyways.

Dry ages them. I've found 2020 to be the best vintage. Seemed like they stayed in a more and exposed to less external stimuli.

I'm going on about 10 years on my non-vacuum version. My guess is some aren't cleaning it out and that's burning up the motor. I rinse with water multiple times throughout one use session. The vacuum sound like a downside to me as it seems more failure prone and rinsing in water regularly lowers the friction of cutting.

How strong is the vacuum feature? Don't want any of my brain clogging the vacuum.

Biggest problem I have with them is that blade rotation speed is hit and miss.
Like the battery is weak and makes bad contact. ( when the battery is fresh) And the blades are clean.

Havent't found a permanent fix. I think I had two or three of these, all developed the same issues.

I always have to open the battery compartment and wiggling/twisting/rotating the battery to eventually get them up to a decent speed.

That sounds like corrosion on the battery terminals. I suppose that could happen in a humid bathroom environment.

I've seen someone recommended getting the Made in Japan version instead in the past thread.

For me it is the battery contact that separated over time. I added a piece of tin foil between the battery and trimmer contact and it's been working like new ever since.

I had used these (a few different models over the years) for 20+ years and took a chance on the Conair one that was on sale for $10 a month ago. The Conair is 100x better than the Panasonic. It cuts closer and the motor doesn't constantly stall out like the Panasonic does.

I don't feel any suction. It's pretty weak.

After I bought the Conair, I wont buy anything else. It was smooth cut. All other brands are junk.
