My own personal experience is that while I have both front and rear, the front camera has been the only one that saved my ass a couple times when it came to insurance claims. I'm sure the rear can come in handy but I'd imagine not as often as the front.
Geez, how often are you getting into accidents?

This had been the easiest to use and the best quality dash cam I have used over the past 8 years off using dash cams.

For those who lives in city and street parking might be a good idea to have rear but I park in the driveway so I don't feel the need. I have cheaper Linus recommended Chinese brand installed in all ours and I am tempted to get one for the future use.

I had an accident earlier this year and I wish I had installed it in all of our cars. There are people out there straight out lie and do not want to take the responsibility of their stupidity. I walked away with no injuries and not at fault from our insurance but I was shocked what I read on report. My perfect 30+ years of driving record is ruined with accident and a couple of tickets that I have no idea why I got those in the mail so I have my attorney taking care of them. On top of that a new car payments that I hadn't had for years with slight increase in insurance cost. I hope she gets what she deserves.

To everyone, just make sure they are doing their job on scheduled maintenance my brother had expensive one installed for few years and it stopped recording until I noticed.

Speaking from personal experience, having that rear camera is going to make things easy for your insurance in case you get rear ended. Also, you might save someone else's ass in the event of a chain reaction car crash. (Ask me how I know)

I wouldn't go with a front+rear 2 channel, as running that wire is going to be a bitch (unless you're driving a wrangler/gladiator/bronco & can run the wire along the roll bar)... Not to mention you run the risk of interfering with side curtain airbags.
So based on your response, go with the N2 as that is one unit with a rear camera? Thanks for your help/comments.

No, the n2 is a dual channel - the rear camera faces you & your passengers. If you want to be able to go back & look at what's happening behind you, grab a separate single channel & mount it to the rear window

I'm deciding between VIOFO A129 Pro Duo and Vantrue N4. Can someone provide inputs on which one to consider for a minivan. I couldn't find much help on YouTube, as the majority of them are paid videos. Appreciate your help!

Have N4 tri cam, it's a good product and has held up in high heat weather.

Does it have a mobile app, to check the video recordings? I don't want to take out the SD card, every time I want to check the recordings. And how difficult is the installation?

Isn't the Vantrue X4S duo a better deal at $130?
How does it compare to VIOFO A129 Plus Duo at $133?

I used to drive a lot Smilie I once hit something that flew off a truck on the highway. Since I hit a flying object, it wasn't my fault. My dash cam saved the day.

Just my $.02 for the E1 2.5k WiFi; I got 2 units earlier this year in Jan when it was on a flash sale for $70.
Vid Quality is good and wifi connectivity works fine but here are some things to consider:
- This unit gets really hot as another Amazon reviewer mentioned; I think it's ok during winter time but not sure how it will hold up in summer temperatures
- There is a wireless bluetooth remote with 2 buttons that can: 1) toggle the built-in mic ON/OFF, 2) manually log the current video recording. Downside is that the wireless controller does not always work so its best to verify the remote is working before start your trip
- The camera can only be installed for one orientation - no vertical or horizontal adjustments for tilting the camera

great dashcams for the price. I've had two vantrue dash cams, each for over 3 years. running strong. my 4k forward facing cam can capture license plate numbers a few car lengths away even in low light situations. the rear facing ones (I think are only 1080p) can only capture license plates if the car is directly behind me.

Highly recommend this brand, great functionality.

I have the e2..first dash cam I've ever used. No regrets! I think I paid like 200. I would buy it again!
