We prefer strong coffee but not burnt...and whole bean, since we grind ours...and we do weigh and adjust as needed.
I'd say they are similar to Lavazza (who actually bought a majority stake in the original company 6 years ago).
Coffee and taste are so subjective.
This is a good opportunity to try it at a good price.

It's a premium coffee. Picked it up years ago at Whole Foods. Been drinking it ever since. Only ever tried the whole beans as I grind myself. If you're looking for a very good medium roast the Smart Ass or a bit lighter the Three Sisters is excellent
Apologies, earlier meant to write Smart Ass coffee (variety), however wrote Kick Ass (another variety of theirs). It too is very good, I'd classify it as a medium dark roast , it's full bodied not as oily or as acidic as some dark roasted coffees. Also works very well for Superautomatic espresso/cappuccino machines. As they recommend not using espresso beans as oily beans can harm the grinder .
