Not spices in particular, but garlic. Google for asia garlic tainted and pick your favorite outlets. That stuff is grown in sewage. Stick to Sams Club (grown in Arkansas) or Costco's brands (locations vary, but still in one of the Americas).

Wow. Honestly never thought of where my spices came from. I know a lot of seafood comes from Asia and South America.

It's a good time to start. So many tainted with heavy metals and chemicals

Agree 100 percent. Zero quality control from China. I still can't believe that people actually eat Chinese seafood like tilapia and shrimp which is grown in sewage. Nope!

Trivia:

1. Hatch Chile is not a species, it is just a growing location that got popularized to the point some think it is a species of chile. It was developed by the U of NM and is simply #9.

2. Because no one in NM wants to pick chiles, the farmers here are constantly reducing their acreage so it is a smaller and smaller crop, both in NM and in Colorado. As a result, most "Hatch" green chile you buy is from CHINA.

We pay people to stay home watching TV while there are crops to be picked. SadMad

Unless you live in the desert or blow through massive amounts of garlic running a restaurant, I would expect the humidity will turn that into a solid block before you're halfway done with it.

That's how free market global economies work... If you don't like it, perhaps grow your own hatch chiles?

This is important as all of the Chinese garlic is bleached with carcinogenic agents to make it look natural
