Just leaving this comment here for the benefit of others - This is the Edge (Mediatek processor) and not the Edge + with the Snapdragon processor.

I have a pixel 6a and this Moto edge. Other than the updates, the Moto is a much better daily driver. I've been using it since December and have found it perfectly capable. The screen is impressive and bright. The camera has a larger main sensor than my galaxy S 22, and although the software is weaker, it takes really nice photos that look great even printed out at 8.5 by 11. The speakers are much better than my galaxy or iPhone. The media Tech is surprisingly responsive, although obviously not as fast as the snapdragon in the Edge plus. It's very lightweight and feels nicely balanced in the hand. I'm sure others will disagree vehemently, but I heartily recommend this phone at this price.

The megapixel count isn't what matters on modern smartphones. It's just a marketing figure. The AI software that's processing the photo is what matters. Also, the quality of the sensor is more important than the pixel count. The Pixel 7 line only has a 50MP camera and it's tied with Samsung and Apple's flagships for the best photos. Moto has inferior software than the leading manufacturers. Moto has a phone with a 200MP camera, yet it takes inferior photos to even the Pixel 5's 12MP camera. Depending on what you're documenting, the Moto may still be fine, though. It's not like the photos will be a completely blurry mess. They just won't look as crisp and photogenic.

You need to be able to provide the IMEI. Most models that can only be found by turning on the device.
S7E does have it at the backplate if I recall correctly nod

Imo Just buy the Moto Power for the same price. It an updated model, has the same storage,SD Slot, same battery and comes with android 13 already. I have the Edge + and it has yet to get 13 yet and it's almost August 2023. For my money it's what I would buy.
All the Moto G phones have horrible photo and video quality. The 2023 Edge+ kills all of the company's phones in this area.

A13 isn't a major release imo. Very minor changes over 11 and 12...

With budget OnePlus phones you get 1 android update and 3 years of security updates. I have a Nord 200 and it works fine for what it does. Nothing wrong with Motorola phones but they always seem to behind the curve on updates. My previous phone was a cheap Moto E5 that came with Android 8 and only one year of security updates. I guess you shouldn't expect much from a $50 phone.
Actually oneplus had one almost exact fiasco with its N200.
When oneplus nord n200 was released, oneplus only guaranteed one OS update. The oneplus nord n200 was released with android 11 in June 2021. In 2022, oneplus told t-mobile that it would build Android 13 for the t-mobile variant of n200 and that was why t-mobile put its N200 in the android 13 update list on its website. Now in 2023, the plan of Android 13 update for n200 is abandoned.

Minor from 12 to 13, yes. But not from 11 as 12 made several UI changes compared to earlier versions of Android (unless you go way back to like KitKat or something)

Yep. It's pretty sad and is a compelling reason to stick with just Samsung and Google or move over to Apple devices. The Motorola of old was awesome. One of their earlier G models that I had actually got a major OS update before my Nexus did at the time (only by a few days, but still). OnePlus of old was also awesome. Not so much these days.

If Moto could just get in-line with providing timely updates and get better cameras, they would be a fantastic alternative to Samsung and Google.

For those worried is not a Snapdragon, this phone is very fast. Does everything I throw at it and buttery smooth. Mediatek is really stepping up their game.

I like this phone, its specs, etc. However, because of the cpu on it, there will never be a customizable ROM available. I have a OnePlus 8 5G that has some nice roms and I'm happy. I'll ask the wife if she might like this phone, as she doesn't care what's on her phone as long as she can watch youtube video's and read her romance novels.

What is the specifics of *any condition*? What if it doesn't turn on? LMAOLMAOLMAO
I have an S7 Edge in the drawer alongside Moto Z2 Force Edition and an Alcatel Idol 4S (Windows Phone). The later 2 are in perfect working conditions but S7Edge doesn't respond. Am contemplating to do trade-in at Costco if they can accept S7E. Need clarification over this *any condition* thingy
Literally any condition, phone in one piece, multiple pieces, cracked screen, water damaged, broken in half, doesn't power on at all, you name it. It's literally any phone. The catch is that some Costco locations don't accept the trades on-site, so you'll have to go to the nearest T-Mo store to drop it off if they don't. I had to do this, and my trade was an ancient LG phone that didn't even power on regardless of battery or being plugged in. Accepted.

I know with Nokia they would usually provide at least three years of security updates on their phones but then they have so many compatibility issues or other problems that make you want to avoid their products. Generally speaking I have no problem with Motorola phones other than the lack of updates and support for their phones.
