It's better to have the 4-5 week wait period to see where prices go. If it goes up keep the order. If it goes down further then cancel the order and buy lower. There's no drawbacks to longer wait times as long as you don't need it immediately.

Just got this and put it in an SSK external enclosure.

Transfer speed is around 660MB/s between this drive and my laptop. Pretty damn fast IMO.

Isn't it slow compared to 10Gbps of USB 3.2? Ideal number should be close to that limit.

Ordered on 7/12 with shipping estimate in August. Shipping label created on 7/21. Out for delivery today (7/25). Faster than expected. I am not in a hurry. On the contrary, it's good to know that this is really a good deal with so many purchases.

still waiting patiently for my 7/11/23 order to move from 'processing' to 'shipped'. nice to see others that ordered after me have already received theirs. I'll keep waiting for this to go through, but I can't say I'd recommend purchasing from the WD site in the future.

My order from 7/12 which says 7/13 in their system has not shipped despite getting a message on the 17th that they expected it to ship "in the next few business days." I ordered most my parts for a new build that day and this is the last one holding me up. Not good.

I ordered on 7/11. Received a "next few business days" email on 7/17. My card was charged on 7/27. I just opened an online chat w/support and was told the following:
