You can make up for the recovery fee by using a referral. I'm doing the 3 month unlimited, then will downgrade to a cheaper plan for month 4 and use the credit I have on my account.

Also, for those who want more of a hotspot. The 20GB plan is the same price and all of the data can be used for hotspot. The unlimited plan only includes 10GB for a hotspot.

it's a great deal but i rather buy from best buy as i can activate after 3 months

Google Voice allows you to choose which number is displayed on an out call, so the other parties only see the Google Voice number. For me, it's made it easy to toggle providers/numbers.

What's the longest anyone has taken to activate these mint SIM cards? The cards have expiration dates that are years away but mint emailed me saying 30 days and chat support said 45 days but I get the feeling they never really expire.

The deal ended on 10/31. I reported it as expired several days ago, but I guess the mods don't understand the different pricing for the unlimited plan vs the 5GB plan.
