Good deal. Performance at 1080p matches the 6600XT, beats it at 1440p and beats both the 6600XT and 6650XT at 4k and ray tracing (large margin for RT). It also has AI cores for AI workloads unlike AMD, XeSS upscaling (like DLSS, and can use FSR), and AV1 encoding as well as better encoding in general than Nvidia and AMD.

Probably the best midrange GPU you can buy for price to performance and features. The initial launch was shaky due to early drivers, but Intel has released drivers like every other week and its great now.
I just want to disclaimer this post. The Intel Arc cards are VERY game dependent. While they are getting better driver support, they still have a lot of issues and their performance varies due to it. In one game it'll beat a rx 6650xt in another it loses to a rx 6600. Some games won't even launch, some will crash, and some will run just fine.

So if you are willing to deal with it's software issues, it offers decent value. If you are not willing to deal with it's teething issues.....then it is not for you.
passmark is way off on this one. A750 is pretty close to RTX 3060 which easily beats a 1070ti.

Its just the idle power usage that prevents me from buying this.

I'm actually seeing a better price. Newegg shows me $250-$50 sale price and then a $20 promo code VGAEXCAA784 for subtotal of $180. After standard shipping it's coming to $192.59.

I'm debating whether to get this or an RX 5700xt. Which one is better? I'm interested in great performance at 1440p and some 4k.

Where are you seeing 5700 XT for sale? Thats pretty old and there has not been new stock of them for some time that I know. The cheapest new 5700XT that I see on Newegg is like $230.

edit : or did you mean you're looking to replace a 5700?

I have a machine with an older CPU (4790K) for storage and encoding only and NO gaming. I interested in AV1 encoding feature. Will this work for my application?

I know the RX 5700xt is not on sale. I would have to buy a used one but I was just wondering which one is better for 1440p and some 4k.

Great to hear, I'm really hoping these become great mid-range contenders in the market. Sub $200 new cards for 1080/1440 gaming are needed.

Power Connector2 x 8-Pin so it might not work in my daughter's older Shuttle. She'll have to keep the GTX 1060.

But how about compared to 6700xt? I have a 6700 right now but if a small bit of gaming perfornance gets me better video encoding and media performance it seems worth it

Probably an older card. These will require you to enable Resizable BAR in your BIOS, which didnt start until 10th gen Intel's were released.

Edit: Sorry Osqui593, I replied to the wrong post. Smilie

If you are just interested for the encoding feature I think an ARC A380
would be a cheaper alternative.
