I had this. Bought last year for around $350. Complete garbage. The gear drive to move the tines is weak. After about 20 minutes of tilling some clay soils the tines suddenly locked up. I took back to Home Depot and they gave me a refund after a bit of conversation with the manager. They of course can't refund my time and frustration. I wouldn't want another one if they were giving them away. Just look at Legend Force's other products on HD. They don't make anything worth a crap! YMMV, probably a $200 headache though.

If I didn't already have a tiller, I'd try it, BUT...be wary of gear driven tillers in this size. Advertises "Tough, die cast gears" ... ugh, die casting doesn't make gears tough. Forged, machined gears are tough. Die cast gears are far less tough.

A number of reviewers make reference to a clutch, but it's not clear if it's a genuine slip clutch, or just an engage/disengage lever.

The better tillers are belt or slip clutch driven. A belt acts like a slip clutch when you hit rocks and roots. If you are tilling, soft, well cleared ground, direct drive gears are okay. But any kind of tough terrain where the the tines hit something they can't move, the gears and drivetrain take a pounding from the sudden stop.

I'm not sure if this is the exact same model as the one I have. Mine is junk. It struggles to till 3" deep, even though my garden is tilled a couple times each year. It also requires a lot of pushing in order for it to advance. And lastly, in order to switch it into neutral I have to pull pins out of the axle, and push them through holes so that the wheels spin freely. I wish I had purchased a more mainstream brand. Each time I pull this out to use it, I'm annoyed that I didn't return this immediately after the first use.

Don't know if I need this to clear an area of yard that I just sprayed with Roundup. It is about 1000 sq ft and had a bunch of English ivy in it.
