I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate it when people say this on a site dedicated to getting more than what you pay for.

The Champion one is a front tine tiller, and it is geared (pun not intended) for lighter duties; this is a rear tine tiller which breaks the ground when put in reverse. For established garden patches I would go with the front tine tiller, but when dealing with tough/clay soil and breaking new ground, the rear tine tiller is preferable. But you first need to mow before you operate either of them.

That's usually what I hope for when I buy something.

Might grow more weeds? I almost bought it for the same reason but did some research.

Thanks! I almost made the same mistake but did some research and found this:

Tilling can expose dormant weed seeds, prompting growth, and fragment weed roots, leading to new plants.

What if I till the soil and hit it with a roofing torch? 🤔

I did this, the weeds came back with a vengeance, burnt plant material is an amazing fertilizer, part of the cycle of life that encourages regrowth after a forest fire.

If you want your weeds to come back like you put miracle grow on them, burn them.
