The add new line is not needed, but yes the easy way online has inserted a clause to get you to add new line or trade in a better phone than a broken one

Would this be an upgrade or sidegrade to an LG Velvet? It has a higher refresh screen and probably much better battery life. And the updates too of course, which LG is non-existent. I don't know why this isn't getting higher upvotes. It's originally a $500 phone. The best you can get nowadays is some garbage low end moto if you trade in a broken phone.

I made the upgrade from The Velvet a few months back when T-Mobile was offering the same deal...it most definitely felt like a upgrade..the screen is brighter and sharper... A lot smoother with the higher refresh rate and definitely much better battery life I also like the OS a lot better than LG which I've always hated.

Do you need to pay full price+tax on phone at the beginning? Or do you just pay tax and you get the monthly bill credits to subtract the monthly equipment payments?

In a previous deal I traded in a phone that would not power on. Costco rep got the IMEI from the SIM card tray.

Too funny. In a previous deal I traded in an old Fire phone that would not power on. Dead as a door nail. I actually liked that phone. Costco rep got the IMEI from the SIM card tray.
So yes, the old Fire phone will work as a trade in.

If you do the upgrade, are only certain plans eligible? I have Advantage Unlimited Plus which came from Sprint SWAC and usually isn't eligible.
