Just leaving this comment here for the benefit of others - This is the Edge (Mediatek processor) and not the Edge + with the Snapdragon processor.

Call 833-428-1765 for Costco TMobile and you don't even have to go to the store at all. I did this deal on Sunday.

Hmm try the online order. I can get my VZW locked phones accepted with a trade-in value of $498 when I go through the check-out process. I haven't done it online since I'll be visiting Costco kiosk.
Yea online via T-Mobile it should work fine. But most of us want to do it via Costco to avoid the fees that T-Mobile is charging. I believe they charge a $35 fee per line.

Costco should give a $70 card per line (4 max).

So let's say tax is 7%. You pay $35 in tax up front per line but get a $70 card from Costco. If you shop at Costco, you basically make $35 per line with the Costco cards.

I want to do this deal since not a lot of offers come up for older rate plans. Simple choice here.

$75 of Costco Cash card, not $70.

Takes a day or 2. It'll show up in account history and device promo page.

It's all about time management. Texting/Email is quick and to the point. Talking on phone often turns into a big thing where an hour goes by and most of what was said wasn't important. Obviously this doesn't apply if talking to loved ones - but for business, I greatly prefer texting/email vs talking.

So even over the phone with Costco, I'm assuming the activation fee will waived and the $75 shop card will come?
Anyone know why some trade ins won't work over the phone? Could it be that the imei was never on Tmob and locked to a different carrier?
My only old tradein junk phone is a Nokia 635 windows phones that was an att prepaid which I used for only a month or so. I'm trying to figure out the best way to use that phone for this deal.
You should be able to unlock the Nokia using this site, https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/. Just enter IMEI.

When my little was in middle school, that's the phone I gave him. It wasn't a bad phone. I also took advantage of the MS family protect. Worked out well.

Does the phone need to stay on the phone number I upgrade it on for the whole 24 months? I have 5 lines and what if I want to switch it to one of my others by just inserting the sim for a diff number?

edit: called and yes it does need to remain. did it for 2 lines but didn't wanna get stuck with the phone for 3 lines. great deal either way phone is pretty nice!

some costco phone reps just made up the locked phone bs and phone needs to be active on the line to get monthly credit. go to store is better if you have one near by.
