Yes they do not in general unlock android phones before fully paid off. I am long time customer and they have never unlocked it for me and I have ask many times and on different EIPs. Don't actually need it unlocked but was just trying the process because I read somewhere that others have had success.

iPhone wise I have very good success with them helping me to unlock before fully paid.

that has been my experience with financing 24 months. they never unlockd the phone until after 24 months..reasons like going international etc did not work..

It has to be fully paid to get it unlocked, also you have to use phone for at least 45 days consecutively to be eligible for unlock. They might do temporary unlock though.

I got the new phones but didn't see any instructions on how to send in the trade-in phones. Should I contact T-mobile or they will send another package to ship those back eventually?

So looks like this one replaced with P509 promotion and you can get Nord 300 phone.
