I got in with the orginal deal without any issues. There was a lot of misinformation in the orginal thread, but yes, all you have to do it just activate the phone with the fi app, then take the Fi SIM out and never touch it again (sock drawer it, trash it, etc). You can pop in a SIM from another carrier with no problem. After 120 days have passed you can verify that it's finalized in your fi account > savings > earned. At that point you can do whatever you want, the discount is yours to keep.

I think a significant difference here is we are not getting the storage upgrade for free? I got this deal last time but got the s23 ultra with 512gb for the same price as they are offering the 256gb.

Dont see the deal anymore. It was there in the afternoon. Now its gone. Its showing 24 month again.

I just checked today as well. I am not sure what's going on in my account. The only difference is that I activated my account just yesterday. I will contact customer service and check

I don't use a Group Plan, but my understanding is that the Account Holder is responsible for ordering phones for people in his plan, and the Account Holder is responsible for paying for the phones and monthly charges for everyone. Attached are the Terms of the deal. From reading it, sounds like your brother needs to order the phone for you and probably indicates which line it is for so Fi can prepopulate the S23 SIM with that phone number. When the S23 arrives, you install the Fi app on it, log in with your Google / Fi account and activate the S23 with a transfer from your current line. I don't know if each person in a Fi Group Plan has their own Google account or share the same account. Best to talk with FI support to get the exact details on how to proceed.

Confirmed with Google Customer Service. If you are in a group plan, only the primary account holder can order this. The primary account holder can order this for any of the lines under the account.

I just received the S23 Ultra, activated it and transferred the number from the BYOD device.

But when I go to Billing > Fi Savings > In progress, I see 'Activate the device in 49 days' and it is not checked in green. Does that take some time for it to update it there?
