What makes this a good deal? You can get more heat pipes and nicer looks fans for less from Thermalright - Example 17.90 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B1D84DCN/

I've experienced numerous failures and fans from this brand. Even if that unit were free, I would replace that fan with a nice Corsair or similar.

Agree, Thermalright is great from personal experience. Even BA 120 is only $23.9 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SDGBJ55?psc=1

I have 10x fans from Thermalright, both regular and reverse flow. All quiet no issues yet, I have had more issues with master cooler fans.
This is Thermaltake.

Is this ideal for an Intel 12700K or find something better? Thanks.

Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 (~$35) is the bottom line and good enough for 12700K. NH-D15 (~$100) is what some would recommend but you can go AIO at that price.

Thanks. I'll look into the Peerless Assassin. This build is for a friend which won't stress out the 12700.

Thermaltake has been around a lot longer I think than Thermalright, I do however own a thermalright assassin king because my AIO died on me.

The seller on Amazon for thermalright is based out of china though, this deal, the thermaltake is sold directly by Amazon.com, if this matters to you.

If it's correctly installed, this heatsink should be able to keep the 5800x3d from thermal throttling, yes.

If it's a good brand, Thermaltake is probably fine, you can also check that wattage they give you in the description, "170W". That basically means it can keep most CPU's cool that max out at 170w or less. The TDP of the 5800x3d is ~110(?). So it should be fine.
